course enrolment welcome message username variable pushes typo in name

Dears,

we are using the course enrolment method's welcome message to instruct the user how to install the app and log in. We use the varibles for firstname+lastname to communicate the username (unfortunately there is no variable for username, but we keep it consistent with {firstname}{lastname}).

Now the problem: the firstname "Yuni" was changed to "Yusi" in the welcome message. I double-checked that, 100% no typo. Anybody has an idea what is going on and how to avoid that?
