Today I switched to moodle 1.6 but in the language import utility there is no Polish languange pack. Can I install it manually? What should i do?
Please help.

Hi Greg,
Please note that Moodle 1.6 UTF-8 language packs may be downloaded from http://download.moodle.org/lang16/ and unzipped to the moodledata/lang folder.

Well I'd still like to discover the reason why your language import utility didn't contain Polish.
http://test.moodle.com/ includes Polish. Have you migrated to UTF-8?

Just Polish - all other even strange languages appeared
The problem exists only when upgrading from moodle 1.5.3.
During the fresh install of 1.6 Polish language is installed flawlessly.
Morover, I also had a problem with db migration script. I had to run it several times to finish (it sort of crashed in the process) and still after completion the message about migration to utf-8 appeared.
Also restoring courses didn't work well so for me upgrading to 1.6 is impossible.
It's a pity because I wanted my students to write blogs
Kindest regards,
Greg

Hi Greg,
Since we are in a beta status, it is very important to report bugs or possible bugs in the bugtracker . The dbmigrationscript is not supposed to crash and the message should be away. Please report with lots of info (like where it crashes
)
For your restore problem, please follow this link http://docs.moodle.org/en/Backup_FAQ#Restoring_pre_1.6_non-ISO-8859-1_backups_to_Moodle_1.6_-_Unicode
to the Backup FaQ

I can't reproduce the missing Polish langpack problem.
I took a 1.5, upgraded to 1.6, performed the dbmigration and then installed Polish. That is what is not working for you, right?

That's right.
I don't know maybe it's because I couldn't finish the dbmigration correctly.

Can you try again, observer closely what is going on and write a detailed bugreport? It is obviously really important that the upgrade script is bug free and well tested.
