Hello!

Environment: Turnkey Moodle LXC upgraded to Moodle 4.5

I am getting daily emails informing me that site registration has failed, "The task Site registration has failed multiple times and requires attention."

I deregistered my site and now when I re-register it says my site was previously registed as another unknown site with a different URL.

This is not causing any known impact to usability of the site.

Any pointers as to what needs to be done would be much appreciated!

Hello John. For site registration issues you can either contact us via the community form as in Site registration docs or if you don't mind it being public then post the URL of your site here and I can remove the other registration. That at least will be a start to fixing your failed task.

Hello, We are also experiencing this error on our site - having daily massages about "The task Site registration has failed multiple times and requires attention."

We migrated the site from 3.9 to 4.5. We have already unregistered the previous registration. Registration page shows that the new site is indeed registered.

  I cannot seem to find the "community form" too.

Hi,

I've started getting this error too:

The hub cannot access your site at https://online.goevrika.com - Unexpected HTTP response code 403. Your Moodle site and the hub need to be able to communicate with each another.

I'm not sure if it is related to the upgrade (to version 4.5.8 (Build: 20251208)) or to the bot protection I've enabled on Cloudflare at the same time. I'm wondering if you configured some bot protection mechanism as well.

Hi Sergey,

This error is showing because you have CloudFlare and enabled bot protection. Our stats hub is unable to reach your Moodle server. In order to complete registrations, there has to be two way communication between both your server and the stats hub.

Yes, you are right. I found in its logs that MoodleBot/5.1 (+https://stats.moodle.org) from the IP address 52.31.34.236 was blocked.
This IP address is mentioned in that https://docs.moodle.org/501/en/Site_registration .
I've excluded this IP from blocking. And it the site registration is working well now.

Cloudflare has an option for Verified Bots: Cloudflare automatically allows "Verified Bots" (like Googlebot or Bingbot). I think Moodle comunity should consider to add MoodleBot to this list as a known service.

Hi,

It start failing again last night. 

The MoodleBot was coming from another IP 34.245.99.238. Before it was 52.31.34.236.

I've added it to my Cloudflare and now it is back to normal.

It will be great if the following document ttps://docs.moodle.org/501/en/Site_registration gets updated with the new IP.
