Is there any reason why moodle is slow on one course but not another.  Some students tell us that it is slow going from one question to the next on a quiz or exam.

Any huge pictues or anything like that? Big pictures may be causing slow load times. Also if your students are all taking the quiz at the exact same time this could be causing the slow feeling. The server has to deal with how ever many students who are trying to do the exact same thing at the same time which can bog the server down.

If the later is your problem the solution would include more bandwidth or a faster server or a combination of the both.

Hope that helps...

We don't have pictures but some classes have "PDF" files that students MAY use.  My concern is being slow between questions on a quiz or exam.  It is one thing to have a couse slow to load but the studetns get fustrated if they have to wait for each qustion to load.

Thanks

So... Are all your students taking the quiz or exam at the same time? If they are you could try to spread it out so that not so many are taking it at the same time do it in shifts.

Does one course have alot more questions or is using random questions?

What kind of server are you hosting this on (shared, dedicated, etc)? It may be that many students are taking the same quiz in the same course at the same time, which could slow things down for that quiz, depending on the ability of your server to handle the load.
