Customising language in Quiz on MoodleCloud/Alternatives to this

I'm using Moodlecloud to design a 6 week course. The course encourages participants to take part in some exercises each week and to set a goal which they can aim to achieve over the six weeks of the course.

I want to create a function through which participants can set a goal at the beginning of the course and then come back to review/reflect on it (and even edit/add to it) throughout the course. However, I'm struggling to find a function that suits this on Moodlecloud. For example, the Feedback option is good for open entry text but participants cannot review it after they've submitted it.

I've also considered using the Quiz option. This works well in terms of function but the language is misleading since it refers to things like 'quiz', 'result' and 'assessment', which are not relevant. I read that you can change this language under 'language administration', but when I try I see a message saying "this feature is not available in MoodleCloud."

I also read about other plugin options to help with customisation, or options such as the journal plugin - but it would seem these aren't available with Moodlecloud either?

My questions are:
1. Am I missing some steps that would make the above options work with MoodleCloud? If so, what are they?
2. If these options don't work with MoodleCloud, is anyone aware of alternative ways I could create this goal-setting function? I basically just need them to be able to type in a goal and be able to refer to it throughout the course. Is it possible to code within MoodleCloud?

Also just to note I'm working on behalf of an organisation so don't have control over what type of account they have.

Thank you.

Hello there. I understand the limitations of changing the language in MoodleCloud. You don't specify whether these goals will be read by "teachers" or are just personal, and whether they can be viewed by others or must be private to the learner. How about Moodle's Blog or Assignment activity?

Hi Mary, thanks for your reply! The goals would be seen by "teachers" and "students", but only by the student who wrote them. I think Assignment is similar to Quiz in terms of language. Not sure about blog but I'll take a look and see if that will work. Thanks for your advice : )

Well another option is the Database activity which you said to moderate but the teacher never approves the moderation -so a student's entry is only ever seen by the student and the teacher. I accept that the Database activity is not the easiest of activities to set up though. Is it such a big problem, the language? The student won't see the word Quiz on the page and you can make the link to a quiz say anything you want in your title and description?

To update on this looks like blog isn't available for MoodleCloud. Assignment does look slightly better than Quiz for what I'm trying to achieve so thanks for that advice - although the issue with language like 'submit assignment' and the grading table do remain and it would be great if anyone has advice for getting round this.

Do you have the Checklist activity on your MoodleCloud site? Have you explored that option?

Incidentally, I have a MoodleCloud site and the blog is available for me. Click on your profile top right, then you will see a section in your profile Miscellaneous and there you can add a new blog entry. However.... blog entries can't be restricted (well, not easily) to just the teacher and an individual student) so again not ideal really.

Hi Mary, sorry for the long time between replies! Checklist could be another option although again the language isn't very intuitive ('add your own item') etc. It can be worked around but would be ideal if I could just somehow change the language to 'add your goal' and remove references to grading, etc.

Thanks for taking the time to help and share some different options - I really appreciate it!
