Faster way to define roles

I have new roles to make and I have to click prohibit on 1000 or so functions.

Is there a faster way to prohibit all functions in a role then add the roles I want?  

I am using a macro but it's very tedious.

You do not want to set prohibit on all capabilties.

I think you should learn more about how Moodle's roles system works before starting to define completely custom roles.

Start with the standard roles.
