How to set up CloudFlare Captcha for a Moodle site?

How to set up CloudFlare Captcha for a Moodle site?

I have a Moodle site which has hCAPTCHA disabled due to accessibility concerns. I noticed that all official Moodle sites use Cloudflare Captcha, which does not require solving very complex puzzles. Has anybody used Cloudflare Captcha for their Moodle site? If so, how to go about it? Thanks.

UP, UP, UP!  I have the same question as you. I mean, CloudFlare Captcha is much better than Google ReCaptcha, as it is a more privacy-respecting option than Google reCAPTCHA and also because it is more straight-forward. You don't have to tick any boxes or even photos of traffic lights, cars, etc...  which makes a smoother experience for your students.

It's a pity that Moodle only offers you the possibility to set up Google ReCaptcha, at least at the moment of writing this post (Moodle 4.5+). You can check if you go through Plugins/Authentication/manage authentication.

But if you say that there are a lot of official Moodle sites using Cloudflare Captcha, that's because it can be done. So, could anybody help, please?

Thanks!

There are other forum posts on this topic: IMHO you should not open a new one.

Google Recaptcha it's part of Moodle in many pieces of code and it's not plugged as an external module, so adding Cloudflare Turnstyle, which is the product (... product) that aims to do CAPTCHA tests integrated into your software, requires deep changes into the Moodle core. The right way is to add an issue on the bug tracker, requesting this new feature and if there are people (enough) interested in it, this feature will be considered for future development.

Obviously, first search in the tracker if there are some identical issues opened yet and vote for them.

About moodle official sites, I never see Cloudflare Turnstyle, but the normal CloudFlare protection, which is a product that wraps your website without needs to add/modify code, but again, it's a product.

Moodle.org in it's user registration uses ReCaptcha...
