[4.3]The number of choices in the question has changed

We are experiencing the same bug as mentioned here: https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=434465

It directs to https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-74752 which still seems not fixed.

I couldn't find any progress on this?

What basically happens:

  1. Students take a Quiz
  2. Teacher discovers an error in a question
  3. Teacher fixes the question
  4. Regrade is being aborted with an error

So how to fix this?

MDL-74752 says it is fixed. Might it be that your version of Moodle hasn't been upgraded.

I tried the exact steps that you provided in my Moodle 4.4+, and I did not get that error.

So this wasn't fixed in Moodle 4.3 yet? Or is it because it is an old quiz that the error still exists?

I don't know. I am using Moodle 4.4+. Eoin might have solved your problem.

A work-around that might work and be fairer is to edit the maximum mark for the question to 0 on the "Edit Quiz" page and regrade.
