Scores for Good/Poor grading option

I have an assignment that was scored using the Good/Poor option. There are three levels of the grade: * (Poor), **, and *** (Good).

The problem is, I can't figure out how these categories translate to point values. The assignment is worth 5% of the total semester's grade, and all of the other grades are scored on 100 point scales. Does Good = 100%? Does Poor = 0%? Does ** = 50%? When I gave some assignments 2 stars, I meant it more as "this is okay, but not top-notch", but a 50% is a failing grade, which is not what I intended.

I can't find anywhere that this is documented, so I'm not sure how these scores are being factored into the final grade. Is there some setting that I'm missing, that would allow me to change the point values?

Thank you!

Consider reviewing the gradebook> letter values to see if the grade levels were set there.

Thanks! Letter values didn't seem to have anything, but it did lead me to this documentation:
https://docs.moodle.org/401/en/Scales

If I'm reading it correctly, it suggests that scales are given point values by dividing up the scale into equal parts. So, for a 3-point scale, as I worried, Good = 2/2, middle = 1/2, and Poor = 0/2. That's not entirely what I want, but I still don't see a way to change it. I think it just means I shouldn't use this type of scale going forward.

Scales gave me a headache, so I stopped playing with them years ago. There were some trackers about improving the functionality to edit a scale or change a scale currently associated to a quiz, but I have not been following those.
Maybe you need an additional value Good/Fair/Poor so you do not have a poor value as 50%?

That's a good idea- I could insert some shadow values below poor, to boost the relative value of the others. Thanks!

And I agree- scales seem like more trouble than they're worth. I won't be using them in the future.
