Hello Moodle Community,

Hope you're well. We're facing a challenge with Moodle App analytics – not all relevant data is consistently recorded. Seeking your expertise on extracting comprehensive insights like user engagement, session durations, and popular content via the app.

Our goal is to create Google Analytics-style dashboards for real-time decision-making. Any guidance or resources you can share on extracting and analyzing this data would be highly appreciated.

Thanks for your time and expertise.

Dear Isabel,

I hope this message finds you well. In our exploration of the Moodle app guide for admins, specifically the "Analytics and Stats" section, we've encountered a consideration regarding Matomo.

Given our Premium account status, we're also in the process of discovering Matomo. However, we've noticed that it presents a duplication of investment, especially considering our current utilization of Google Suite. Before delving into the challenges we're facing with MySQL queries, we were curious if there's a particular reason to continue with Matomo when we already have robust analytics through Google Suite.

Now, regarding our database logs linked to Google's Locker Studio for basic dashboard creation, we've encountered challenges in constructing MySQL queries to extract meaningful indicators. Is there an existing tool within the Moodle ecosystem that can streamline or automate this process? We're keen on optimizing our data consumption and analysis.

In addition, we're seriously considering migrating to the branded version of Moodle. While we understand it's a significant investment, especially in terms of analytics and reporting, we want to be absolutely certain that it will provide us with all the necessary insights.

Your insights and guidance on these matters are greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,
Rene Hernández
