Recently, Moodle 4.2 shows up only as simple html links. Has anyone else had this issue?
I am of course checking with my hosting service. This has happened before on my Mac, but it is happening with half the students in my class on Mac and PC using Chrome. Safari and Edge both work well.
In the past, I have always restarted the computer and it has fixed the issue, but Chrome is still not working for me and several of my students.

Can you share a screenshot? Crop or obscure anything you don't want to share on the Internet.
In config.php
does the $CFG->wwwroot
line start http: or https:?
I have attached a screenshot using Chrome. You can see that my Moodle only shows up as simple text and HTML links. As for the $CFG line, it starts with https.
It has always been set to https. This issue happened after the December 12th Chrome update. The web host technician confirmed that he replicated the issue in Chrome but said Firefox and Safari are working on both PC and Mac. So I have, of course, instructed all my students to use those web browsers. Then, of course, there are other students who are not having an issue. I told them not to update Chrome unless it starts giving them other problems.
The hosting service also told me that the require.min.js file is showing errors which are most likely causing the issue displayed in the attached file.
