While searching the Plugin database for a plugin I have installed on my site, I wondered why each Plugin does not have a unique identifier?
Executing a name search pulls in multiple responses, versus going directly to the Plugin I am looking for. I am now reviewing several plugins with similar names that do not appear to be the same as the one I have installed on my site.
Just my problem for the day.
Dear Shirley,
The unique identifier is the 'Frankenstyle' -> https://moodledev.io/general/development/policies/codingstyle/frankenstyle.

Hi Shirley,
Thanks a lot for your comment. I'd like to provide additional information about the search functionality. When you search using any text, the results will first display all the plugins with that text in the name, Subsequently, it will show all plugins with the specified text elsewhere.
If you would like to provide some feedback or suggest any changes regarding search functionality, you can do so through the "Share your feedback" form at https://moodle.org/plugins.
Thanks
Raquel.

Raquel,
I search for Cohort Sync (which is how the plugin installed in my system appears). The results were 120 plugins and nowhere to be found was the plugin installed in my system. Using just the names to identify a piece of software installed on a system does not appear to be a best practice. Somewhere, maybe in the description area of the plugin a unique identifier that too is searchable could be entered.
Kind Regards,
Shirley
