Running two seperate copies of moodle, same database??

Hi

Yes! we are still having the problem having our VLE over our Intranet and Internet at the same time!!!!  we have tried many things but still to no avail.

I just read a post (http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=777) where Martin mentioned having two seperate copies of moodle that share the same database along with two seperate config.php files.

Our college does not use Apache and we are running moodle on a windows 2003 server.  Has anyone actually carried this out and if so how did they go about? were there any problem areas.  Would this alternative be feasible for the problem of having our VLE over our Intranet and Internet from a single location?

Also!  there is a slim chance that Moodle may be dropped from our College due to the said problem, which I am totally against!!

Any suggestions would be very grateful indeed.

Thanks, Ali.

I don't think so. It seems to me the biggest part of the problem is on the ISA server. I don't know anything about ISA server (I stopped using the product when it was stil called MS Proxy 2.0), but searching for 'isa server attachmen blocked error' in Google I found this:

    http://forums.isaserver.org/m_230034700/tm.htm

It talks about OWA, but I guess the root of the problem is basically the same in your case: ISA blocking things on the outside (public side of it).

Thanks for your reply, again Saludos. Iñaki! your help is much appreciated.

'I' personally think it is a server issue as we have much the same problem with a forum (Webwiz).  Our IT manager begs to differ! There is even talk of me search through files and handcoding, which I am not very keen, in order to have the VLE over the Internet.

I will persuade our manager to look into the ISA server problem as I have seen other Moodle users with an ISA server successfully having Moodle over the Inter and Intranet.

Currently, we can have the VLE over the Internet but cannot login directly (400 bad error) but when I click on the back button and click on a course link it will go to the course with me being logged in as myself.  Ofcourse we are still having the attachment blocked error when we try and open a SCORM for example.  we also receive the 400 bad error when trying to open a Moodle created quiz.

There are other small problems like centre block not displaying correctly.  Other than all this everything seems to be fine.

Many thanks again, Ali.
