Hello,

I have updated the Grid format as follows:

Version 401.2.0 for Moodle 4.1 version 2022112800.00 (Build: 20221128) and above within the 4.1 branch until the next release:

with:

  1. Fix 'Previous/Next section arrows are incorrect for RTL languages' - #183.
  2. Fix 'Last section not showing its image when editing'.
  3. Convert 'numsections' to 'gnumsections' to facilitate both a course setting and flexible section management when editing.
  4. Fix 'Undefined property' - #186.
  5. Fix 'No sections showing when creating a course with the default number of sections'.
  6. Fix 'Images are missing in the grid boxes when restoring a course' - #172.

Version 402.2.0 for Moodle 4.2 version 2023042400.00 (Build: 20230424) and above within the 4.2 branch until the next release:

with:

  1. Fix 'No sections showing when creating a course with the default number of sections'.
  2. Fix 'Images are missing in the grid boxes when restoring a course' - #172.

This release is 'Stable' and I cannot stress enough that it MUST be tested on a test server first as reverting back from 'gnumsections' to 'numsections' could prove difficult.  Therefore it is essential that I am still reassured from the community that this works in the 'wild' beyond what I have already tested.

This functionality has been put in place in V402.1.1 (a release candidate version) such that you can both change the number of sections via the course sections in the old fashioned way and at the same time use the modern way on the course page itself, adding in sections singularly where you want them.

If you're not sure how to set up a test server?  Then look at the 'Installer packages' on https://download.moodle.org/releases/latest/. ; Ensure that you have multiple backups of all data before using.  Please report any issues. i.e. 'bugs' with these releases ONLY here.  Before doing so please read 'Reporting issues' on the 'Information' tab on the course format 'Settings' under 'Site administration' -> 'Plugins' -> 'Course formats' -> 'Grid'.

If you find this post useful, then please mark it so.

Thanks Gareth
I have installed this on a test site which is a copy of a site where we make heavy use of this course format. All seems to be working fine.
Thanks for the update and this really useful plugin.
