I am trying to install Moodle on a new server and have some problems.

During the install everyting seems to install fine untill I come to the admin setup. It says that I left some field blank which I did not.

If I logout I can no longer login because the admin has not updated name and password.

In order to fix this I changed the email address in the database to the proper address and then asked moodle to send me a new password. This work and I can now login as admin.

 

However I can still not update or add users.

All my settings apear to be as stated on the install page.   Any suggestions?

Hmm, obviously something is different about the environment.

(By the way, if you ever have trouble creating the admin account, try the default values of admin/admin)

As for this problem, I need versions. Which version of Moodle, PHP, Apache etc ... a URL with the admin account would be good too (in private email) so I can take a look.

Some major changes have been happening in Moodle lately so I do not recommend the nightlies in production servers.

I had similar problems on Moodle 1.0.7 on Windows/2000, IIS5, MySQL. I was able to overcome them somewhat with manipulation of the $CFG->buggy_referer in config.php. I am very new and want to see the "breadth" of  the app first. So if I can workaround a problem I will until I've gone through the "normal" workflow.
