Hello,
During the last days we have tried to upgrade our Galera cluster (MariaDB 10.8.3) to latest LTS version 10.11.3.
Upgrade was successfull:
Package MariaDB-client-10.11.3-1.el7.centos.x86_64 already installed and latest version
Package MariaDB-common-10.11.3-1.el7.centos.x86_64 already installed and latest version
Package MariaDB-compat-10.11.3-1.el7.centos.x86_64 already installed and latest version
Package MariaDB-server-10.11.3-1.el7.centos.x86_64 already installed and latest version
Package galera-4-26.4.14-1.el7.centos.x86_64 already installed and latest version
but on the Moodle side we have noticed some problems. After upgrade Moodle starts reporting:
This version of MariaDB doesn't yet support 'GET_LOCK in cluster (WSREP_ON=ON)'
If we check on cluster side everything is working well, databases are in sync.
Our environment, temporary, is CentOS7 with MariaDB Galera cluster (10.8.3, which we would like to upgrade to latest LTS version 10.11.3). Moodle version is 3.11., in future we are planing to upgrade to 4.1.
We are wondering if there is anything to do to »bypass« this error. On out DEV/QA environment we are having also Galera cluster, MariaDB is upgraded to 10.11.3, and is working well. There is one difference, on DEV/QA environment we are having different operating system – Ubuntu 22.04.2 (LTS).
Thank you for your help.
Best,
Erik
