the situation is as follows:
I've set up a forum in our Moodle for all students in a specific degree program.
The forum is set to 'optional subscription', so students need to actively sign in to get the notifications, and I think around two third have done so.
The forum is open to all participants to post messages.
When I as a teacher post a message, all participants who subscribed to the forum get a notification. However, if one of the students posts a message I don't get notified. When I look at the forum it seems like I have to manually subscribe to each message a student posts. But this can't be correct, right? Is there some setting I have overlooked?
In the image you can see, three messages I have posted and one which has been posted by a student. I got notifications from my own posts, but not from the post of the student.

Any tips or ideas would be much appreciated.
