Installing GD extension on W10 Xampp

Got the error: The GD extension is now required by Moodle for image conversion.

The link on this error sends me to some very vague stuff about Ubuntu and CentOS. A search of the web takes me to incredibly complicated explanations of how to do this and they all point to something called libgd-2.3.3.tar.gz or xz - I'm reasonable confident with a lot of tech, but this defeats me - mostly because I'm told to install php_gd2.dll and I can't find that in any of the libraries I've downloaded.

Feeling kinda stuck with this installation - been at it all weekend - including completely uninstalling and reinstalling Xampp and messing with all sorts of settings to get this far.

I installed Moodle locally a few years ago and don;t remember anything like this - have I downloaded the wrong install file?

Many thanks again both - this turned out to be a lot easier than it looked last night through the tears :O)

The Intl error also appeared but that was sorted easily using the Moodle help page as was the max_vars thing.

Well, that's my Christmas holiday set :O)
