I too miss this functionality. Recently I started conducting dual-language courses, one being an Indic language. The language switching with Moodle Multi-lang filter works beautifully everywhere, except one place. I am forced to write my name in one language only. I can't put {mlang si}විශ්වනාත්{mlang}{mlang other}Visvanath{mlang} in my profile without breaking many things.
