Has anyone successfully integrated LTI Teams within Moodle?

We have setup everything up following the instructions in the link below, except not enabling Create accounts in Moodle for users in Azure AD in the user and course Synch setting within Moodle. We don’t want all our Azure users added to our Moodle installation.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-gb/microsoft-365/lti/moodle-plugin-configuration?view=o365-worldwide

When we access the created LTI link, we receive this:

Teams

Ali - I just recently went through the steps to get Teams integrated with Moodle and it generally seems to be working but I am still working out the best way to handle the work flow. I'm not sure about the sync options available. We opted to sync all users and I know that it creates a scheduled task to do that every day. Hopefully you have figured this out but I would be interested in networking with folks who have integrated Microsoft 365 and Moodle. Peace - Anthony

Hi Antony

We did get it working to a fashion with excluding the synching all users from Azure setting. Still to run the pilot with staff and students right enough and our testing has indicated that it is working.

As an extra step for us (administrators) where we had to go through Microsoft Integration > Advanced > Manage Teams connection and 'Connect' the Moodle courses individually.

Teams connect

We also do not want all our Moodle courses to be connected to Teams. We have a course programme with say ten or so modules (Moodle courses) and we have created a Moodle Course Information Page for the programme where we will add the LTI Teams integration. One Programme, one MS Teams instance in which will only be used to communicate with our College Apprentices and the Work Based Learning teaching staff. Moodle for learning, teaching and assessment and the Teams aspect for communication and collaboration.

Hope the above helps.
