Do Moodle Messages Work At All?

Hello,

I've created some dummy accounts to start trying out MoodleCloud. One thing that concerns me is that messaging seems to be failing completely. Can someone tell me what's going on?

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for reporting this issue. We are currently working on a fix with our team.

In the meantime, we have found a workaround that you may find useful.

You can remove the last part of the URL for end users:
From:
/message/index.php%7Cmessage
To:
/message/index.php

Site administrators can fix this via: Appearance > Themes > Theme settings
Remove the extra |message| here:
messages,message|/message/index.php|message
To:
messages,message|/message/index.php

I hope this helps and once we have a permanent fix in place across all sites, we will update this forum post.
