How do I track student course completions for multiple course sessions?

Hi,

If I have a course that runs 4 times a year for 4 different groups, how can I generate a report or track what students have completed the course in one report?

I did look at try to use Competencies in Moodle, so that Sessions 1 to 4 the students would achieve the same competency, but I couldn't get a report to generate across the whole site.


I could export all the data and then put it into a spreadsheet, but I fell like Moodle has the feature internally but I havent worked out how to do it

Hi Aaron,

I think it would be enough to use separate group mode in your course.
- in course administration, set group mode to separate
- then add four course groups
- add your students to the right course group
- optionally add the faculty/teaching staff to the group as well
- optionally use group overrides to define different start/due dates per group (not supported by all activities, but the big ones like assignments and quizzes do)

Then you can use just one course for all your students and this the standard course completion report will be enough for your reporting needs.
