I have a moodle 3.11 with the moodle app in premiun subscription.

When I enable the downloads of the courses with the contents that are books in .epub format with sizes from 70mb to 30mb I obtain that the download speed of these in the application is of 10kb/s when the bandwidth of the server is of more than 100mb and my internet connection is of 200mb of download.

Is there any way to configure the Moodle download speed?

The "moodle app" got me confused. I thought there is the Moodle web application https://download.moodle.org/releases/latest/, which is for the server and the Moodle Mobile App https://download.moodle.org/mobile/, which is for mobile devices (clients). Apparently there is a Moodle App https://docs.moodle.org/dev/Moodle_App_Release_Notes#Moodle_App and a separate Moodle Mobile https://docs.moodle.org/dev/Moodle_App_Release_Notes#Moodle_Mobile.

Have I missed a major development?

When I talk about the application I mean the one that is installed on the cell phone, this is connected to moodle, what I want to know is why the downloads of the courses in the application take so long. Something that does not happen in Moodle's web page.

OK. You run the Moodle web application on the server. When you access it from your PC or laptop (normal browser) everything is fine. When you access it from your smartphone (Moodle Mobile App) the downloads are slow.

Can you give us some numbers, like the time it takes to download a 100 MB file on your browser and from the smartphone?

Do both devices connect to the Internet through the same access point. I mean are the both connected to the same wireless access point or is the laptop on a xDSL and smartphone is in a cell network? What is the make, modal of the smartphone and its OS? Did you try from a different smartphone?

Do you always work as the 'admin'? If so, from a normal account.

Did you go through the forum documentation, https://docs.moodle.org/en/Performance, for example?

Yes, I have already reviewed the documentation and made the necessary configurations.

Regarding what you tell me about the download speed in the web browser connected to a wifi network speed of 180 mb download, the .epub file of 70mb takes 3 minutes, when trying to download the same file from the mobile application takes more than 40 minutes.

This happens in the application even if the user is an administrator or a teacher.

The time was measured in the same wi-fi network, I assume. Then there is more than a mere performance issue, something is seriously broken. I notice that currently you are indeed having another issue: "Error al ingresar a página principal Moodle 3.11" https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=434989. And I believe I see a couple of non-core components there: block_cocoon_course_grid5, /theme/edumy for example.

Are you sure that the two issues are not related. If even that is not the case, you have to repair your site first to follow the performance recommendations I mentioned earlier.

What are your findings? Amoung other things the document lists various tests you should do. Could you post their results, even if they are negative? Usually screen-shots suffice.

Where do you host your Moodle? Could you provide us with as much technical information as you can? Server OS, web server, database server, PHP with their versions. VPS, dedicated server, "cloud", shared hosting. Their specifications like #CPU, RAM, .. What does Site administration > Sever > Environment show?

If your issue is really specific to the mobile interface, I know next to nothing about it. I am just opening the dialog so that specialists here could take over. As of now very little background information came from you.

Talking of background information, does Cron run? Noticed that you had an issue in January: "Moodle no ejecuta Cron y no lo muestra" https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=431230. Could you solve it? Please make it a point to post a summary once an issue is resolved.

I have no ideas - not only because you avoid giving details, see the many unanswered questions, also the mobile app not my department. You may try providing those information hoping somebody else could help. Failing that you may ask the moderator to move this discussion to the Moodle mobile forum, assuming that the cause of your issue lies there.
