Can students answer with a Math input?

Can students answer with a Math input?

Hi, I wonder if there's any question type allowing students to write mathematical input in the answer.

For example:

Question: write the symbol of the square root of x?

Answer, something like:

$$ \sqrt{x} $$

and this text should be correctly interpreted by Moodle.

I can see only simple text in the input box students receive.

Any help very appreciated.

Afraid that input box is available to teachers, not students.
Otherwise, please let me know which question type should I choose to let students see the "Equation editor".

Thanks

Roberto, you might like to look at the STACK question type (qtype_stack). https://stack-assessment.org/

Thanks Christopher, Looked into it some months ago.

I've been searching for some native tool in Moodle. I found it quite incredible such a thing needs an external plugin (though a fantastic one like STACK).
