Hi,
I am "trying" out Moodle 4.0 latest commit, and I am wondering if other siteadmin will have the same issues I have when I will upgrade to 4.0 for instutions/organizations using "Boost" as their theme.
In the Boost theme it seems we have 4 "set" header items:
- Home
- Dashboard
- My courses
- Siteadmin for siteadmins
In the current theme I was able to remove HOme from the navigation view with custom css, since most of my organizations find it very confusing for students to have a Dashboard and home page.
Even though I receive a positive response on the My Course page, I also get the question if in the new Moodle 4.0 LMS it will be possible to disable/remove the page Home and/or Dashboard from the view of students. Since this will no become extra confusing for them, since students are used to see their course in the "Dashboard" page.
I might be missing the setting and/or capability to remove this from the view. Or maybe it is simply not there?
I have been checking out if I can "remove" it from view as I did before, but I think I have to do this now with the "tabindex" and that just creates a "white" gab. So I am thinking of removing the full header, and then just theme settings "custom menu items".
So concluding I am wondering:
1) Is there a setting/capability I am missing? If not I will remove the full header and use custom menu items.
2) Are there more siteadmin who will face this same issue, and it is therefor worth to create a tracker for this?
Thank you so much for your time
Gemma
