I'm looking for a bit of feedback as I believe that I've discovered an issue in the Assignment module since the "Ability to delete assignment file submission" was introduced (https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-64377) in Moodle 3.7.
It appears that this feature allows students to remove all their work from an assignment submission at all stages, including after it has been graded.
I believe that this is a bug (and reported https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-72748) as I think this causes significant issues with regard to auditing and verification of a grade against what was graded.
I definitely agree with the original case that there are really good cases for allowing students to be able to do this at some stages of an assignment's lifecycle but I was wondering if anyone has cases where this sort of scenario where a student can remove their submission after it was graded would be appropriate?
(also would really appreciate it anyone else could confirm if my working & reckoning is correct!)
