You can create a Flipgrid like activity. I have used it for students to record self-introduction videos. I have also used it to create a Facebook-like interface for online discussions.

It is a pretty basic setup and is one reason I like the database module. I have a text area field, and the students record directly into it using the video recorder built into the Atto editor. I didn't turn on comments, but you could if you want students to ask follow-up questions. I don't require approval of the entries, but if you are nervous about what might be posted, you can turn on "require approval." Also, the students must submit one entry before seeing what other students have posted. If you have a problem with the videos not showing correctly, double-check your filter settings. I had a problem when the "Multimedia plugins"  and "HTML5 audio/video to MP4 filter" were both on. Once I turned off the "Multimedia plugins," everything worked fine.
