We have suddenly got a problem with forum digests being sent very late, and sometimes the day after.
Or send time is set to 19.00.
Is this the only cron for all forum jobs?
Check the "Site Admin - Plugin - Activity Modules - Forum" settings.
There is a "digestmailtime" setting near the bottom.

Hi John, we have this set to 16, still the digest is sent out after 18:30, as it was when we hade it set to 17.

Just to be sure : your cron is well defined to run regularly, each minute? and it does?
What do the logs for this task show, for launch times and results?
Has there been a change in your mail sending tool?

Is it \mod_forum\task\cron_task
or \message_email\task\send_email_task

I'm not sure, and perhaps both are involved... in doubt, you should verify both.
