Failed to change course format.

Hello, Dear Community.

We have an issue with change course format in different courses after some updates. Windows (to 21H1) and Google Chrome (the newest version).

We have an opportunity to change course format in older software verions.


Could someone have the same issues?

Do you have information on your Moodle version, theme and course format(s) used? And any error messages popping up while performing this change?

The Moodle version is 3.10.4 with an Adaptable theme.
We get an error: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION in all the browsers.

I can change the course format in older versions of Windows. For example W10 (20H2).

I've got no fix, but there seems to be some Chrome-specific issue with changing the course format: see also here and here. As far as I can tell STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION is a Chrome issue, not something wrong in Moodle. Presumably something in Moodle is causing this issue to manifest itself.

This option (change course format) doesn`t work in all of the browsers in the newest Windows 10 (21H1).

Hi Leon, I have the same problem on all platforms whose version is equal to or greater than 3.7 and it occurs in Chrome and Edge browsers. In Firefox it is working correctly

We have seen this also, working in Firefox and non-Chromium browsers, same behaviour in both Edge and Chrome (Chromium).

There is a tracker and it seems the new version of Chromium should fix it... we are sitting tight at present, as not a show stopper 🤞🙏

This is fixed with CSS:

fieldset:target::before {

content: unset;

}

I can confirm, that adding Carlos' CSS does indeed fix it in Chrome.

I had the same problem in Chrome, so i switched to Firefox. Then came across this answer and tried it, and it now works in chrome, thanks smiler

Hi Carlos, I have tried adding the CSS code to the current theme and I was able to verify that it works correctly. Thank you very much for your contribution, greetings from Argentina.

Go into theme settings, and find where you can enter either CSS or RAW SCSS

or you can wait for a week as Chrome 94 comes out of Beta on September 13th, this issue is fixed in that version.
