[Moodle Docs] Documentation dev/JMeter, XX/en/Test_course_generator and XX/en/JMeter_test_plan_generator overlapping

I have been updating https://docs.moodle.org/dev/JMeter and found that there are two overlapping pages propagating in the user documentation branches:
- https://docs.moodle.org/en/Test_course_generator
- https://docs.moodle.org/en/JMeter_test_plan_generator

Both are rarely updated after the initial work during 2013/14. I suggest redireting them to https://docs.moodle.org/dev/JMeter. I offer to transfer whatever necessary before you set the redirection.

I think only https://docs.moodle.org/en/JMeter_test_plan_generator should redirect to https://docs.moodle.org/dev/JMeter

https://docs.moodle.org/en/Test_course_generator is an independent feature. What would be useful is to move the section "Make test course" from https://docs.moodle.org/dev/JMeter into https://docs.moodle.org/311/en/Test_course_generator where it really belongs.

Thanks a lot for looking in to this. I had the bad feeling that this is another case of Moodle Docs being left to "organic growth".

I went through the three documents (if one counts /en/XX/ as one) again and fundamentally agree on your stand. To be specific:
1. Site administration > Development > Make test course
Yes, this is independent of JMeter. Therefore the right document is https://docs.moodle.org/en/Test_course_generator.

I will _move_ the content of https://docs.moodle.org/dev/JMeter#Make_test_course to https://docs.moodle.org/en/Test_course_generator and will link https://docs.moodle.org/dev/JMeter#Make_test_course to https://docs.moodle.org/en/Test_course_generator.

2. Site administration > Development > Make JMeter test plan
Is the same as above. So I will _move_ the content of https://docs.moodle.org/dev/JMeter#Make_JMeter_test_plan to https://docs.moodle.org/en/JMeter_test_plan_generator and place the link in its place.

3. https://docs.moodle.org/dev/JMeter
The only useful content that remains in this page is https://docs.moodle.org/dev/JMeter#Running_the_test_plan_on_JMeter. But there are two issues:
a) It is absolutely independent of the Moodle release. So need to keep it in the /dev/ docs.
b) Simpe "JMeter" is a bad name. (JMeter is just a noun, a name, doesn't say what it does.) I propose "Load testing Moodle with JMeter"

Do you agree? If OK, I will go ahead and do all three. Will need your help in item 3, I don't have the privileges on /dev/ docs to rename a page.

P.S. Since we are at this topic, could you have a look at this enquiry:

How are JMeter test courses and test plans are related? https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=423923#p1707636. Now I know, those to are not directly related. Still the test course generator creates courses with (1, 100, 1 000, 10 000, 50 000, 100 000) users enrolled. The JMeter test plan generator generates plans for courses of (1, 30, 100, 1 000, 5 000, 10 000) users.

Thanks for the new name https://docs.moodle.org/dev/Load_testing_Moodle_with_JMeter and redirecting the old one https://docs.moodle.org/dev/JMeter to the new page!

I already started transferring the content of https://docs.moodle.org/dev/Load_testing_Moodle_with_JMeter#Make_test_course and https://docs.moodle.org/dev/Load_testing_Moodle_with_JMeter#Make_JMeter_test_plan to https://docs.moodle.org/39/en/Test_course_generator and https://docs.moodle.org/39/en/JMeter_test_plan_generator resp..

Please note the /39/ wiki. It is the release I am working with. Once the two pages reach a steady state, please propagate them to /310/ and /311/ wikis. I will post a reply here, when they are ready.

Another conflict. Discovered the page https://docs.moodle.org/dev/JMeter_test_plan_generator.

As planned earlier I have already started working on https://docs.moodle.org/39/en/JMeter_test_plan_generator. Now shall i merge the content of https://docs.moodle.org/dev/JMeter_test_plan_generator also to https://docs.moodle.org/39/en/JMeter_test_plan_generator and you would redirect the /dev/ page to /XX/ page? What do you suggest?
