Backing Up and Restore courses with h5p activities

Backing Up and Restore courses with h5p activities

Hi, I need to share courses between two sites. I backup from the first site and restore on the second however, all the activities are made with hp5 interactive video and I can not restore a course easily as it complains that an external file are not included. I need to download the h5p files and upload them one by one.

I am wondering if there is the chance to share the same file (the two sites are on the same server) or use the ftp to find the files, download them and upload them in the second site massively.

Or any other solution that help me to find a easiest way to migrate the site is very wellcome.

Were you able to get backup/restore to work with h5p?

FYI - From what I have seen there is a problem with H5P embeds and activities when you LINK to the original in the Content Bank (alias).
If you store a copy, restore works.
(Though of course linking makes major sense because editing of H5P can only be done in the Content Bank...)

A workaround would be to ALWAYS CLEARLY NAME those H5P activities which are linked to. Then - after restore - you should be able to mend the broken links.

Maybe even now, in the courses you moved, there will be some hints in the embedded links that will tell you out the H5P file's name you can try to re-link . It's unfortunately much worse in the case of activities - here the aliased file disappears completely, and so there's no hint - unless you remember which activity it was, or can check back at the original course location.

Sorry to be cross-posting, but I have just added some screenshots to the other related discussion; https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=427198#p1761664 .
I have also added a new comment in this busy tracker issue, which I believe - if only for the unique sake of the Content bank repo type - should be addressed as soon as possible - cf. https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-31094?focusedCommentId=936962&page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel#comment-936962 .
HTH.
