Custom cert plugin for Moodle 3.11?

Custom cert plugin for Moodle 3.11?

Mark,

We are using Moodle 3.11, Boost theme, our own server.

Is it correct this plugin is only applicable for use with Moodle Cloud, as written in its description:?

Sets

This plugin is part of set MoodleCloud.

If no, will this plugin be updated to use for Moodle 3.11, and if yes, when? Received this message when attempting to install this plugin:

Certificate plugin options for Moodle seem limited; might you have other suggestions?

Thanks,

The MoodleCloud mention simply means it is being used by MoodleCloud, it doesn't mean it only works there. This plugin will work on any Moodle site. With your site you will need to grab the 3.10 release.

Thank you Mark; note though what the above screenprint reads, from when we tried to install version 3.10 of the plugin: the pre-check failed...cannotdowngrade, so the plugin wouldn't install.

When you click the Continue button, it brings you back to the Install Plugins page in our Moodle site, in essence, starting from the beginning again. We're using Moodle 3.11.

So, from our experience, it seems we have to wait until the plugin is updated to work with Moodle 3.11?

I just created a 3.11 site and installed the module from https://github.com/mdjnelson/moodle-mod_customcert/ and checked out version MOODLE_310_STABLE and everything worked as expected.

Thanks; are you suggesting then we should use GitHub to install the plugin? Shouldn't the .zip folder work though? Have not had any issues installing plugins prior to 3.11

Still seeking answer about how to resolve why the plugin pre-check failed as indicated in the above screenprint.

The 'cannot downgrade' message implies the 3.10 version of this plugin is not compatible with 3.11 and there is another new post to this forum with similar problem using this plugin with 3.11 upgrade.

Thanks,

The zip should work.

The warning suggests you had a higher version of the plugin installed and are now trying to install a version lower. It has nothing to do with the release being for Moodle 3.10. That just means that is the minimum requirement. If you are on 3.11 it should work.

I just installed a fresh site of 3.11, downloaded the zip from https://moodle.org/plugins/mod_customcert/versions and downloaded version 3.10.0 (2020110900) and successfully installed it on my site.
