moodle can do a lot more than that of course, and I am busy evangelising for more use to be made as a way of improving and firming up the teaching-support materials. As I see it, moodle can be used both as a back-up to the existing teaching, especially with MCQs and on-line assignments (and hopefully videos of lectures in the not too distant future)...*and* as a teaching tool in it's own right. I'm planning to have larger parts of our courses on here to enable distance learning in the future, not just for the students who are physically at our institution.
Anyway...The multiple choice stuff went online yesterday and students have started to sign up and get into it. Along with the MCQs there are some acrobat versions of lecture notes (which open in the acrobat plug-in *in* the browser, which looks good and works well) and a small panel with useful links. I'm hoping it will be a big success, as I have plans for this, including more and better resources
But for now, our tiny pilot project is up and running.
