Hello,

I have updated the Grid format for Moodle 3.8 to 3.10 as follows.  I cannot stress enough that this is a 'big' change and you must at all costs test on a test server before updating any production server.

Version 3.10.1.0 for Moodle 3.10 version 2020110900.00 (Build: 20201109) and above within the 3.10 branch until the next release:

Version 3.9.1.1 for Moodle 3.9 version 2020061500.00 (Build: 20200615) and above within the 3.9 branch until the next release:

both with:

  1. Fix 'Duplicated section name' - #134.
  2. All course settings now have an option to track the value of the global default as set by the administrator.  Thus, when they change, then the course changes without any user interaction on the course.  The reset course functionality is still there and will set the value of the setting to the this 'new' default value.  The default colour value is '-' and the colour picker box will show the colour that has been set as the default.  All other settings will state what the default currently is.
  3. Fix settings not being reset: 'Greyout hidden' and 'Section 0 on its own page'.
  4. Fix incorrect value of 'numsections' when not present in the backup file.

Note: If you see 'Default - {$a}' in a setting dropdown then you need to update core Moodle, please see: MDL-71048.

Version 3.8.1.1 for Moodle 3.8 version 2019111800.00 (Build: 20191118) and above within the 3.8 branch until the next release:

with:

For '2' this brings the format in line with the functionality in Collapsed Topics, whereby when a course setting is 'default' then it will follow the site setting value and thus if that changes, its value will apply to the course automatically.  More information / background on https://www.elearningworld.org/three-state-logic/ and https://www.elearningworld.org/small-little-details/ (Note: eLearningWorld is run by HRDNZ, a Moodle Partner).

Please report any issues with these versions only here.  If you find this post useful, then please mark it so.
