Displaying Markdown files

Displaying Markdown files

I have an instructor wanting to load markdown (.md) files in his course but I he cannot get them to display properly in Moodle. I got them to display properly if I copy and paste them in the editor and show the files as a page resource but we would like to just show the files themselves so our aliases/auto-updates work properly.

If anyone has any solutions it would be appreciated.

This is being asked in the wrong Forum, I suspect, you may want to put this into the Developer's Forum. I doubt Moodle is structured to display an *.md file in its raw form. It is not a common format in a php/html environment.

Aside: I have often thought that the Wiki resource in Moodle is a waste of time, that we would be better off using a Mediawiki environment with a Moodle-like skin and an SSO to allow a real range of Wiki activities, including learning how to properly create an *md file.
