Irregular Sound in Moodle Videos

Hello everyone. When I watch course videos, there are some irregularities with the sound. Sometimes it becomes too loud while other times I can barely hear anything. I have no idea why this happens, any suggestions will be appreciated.

I am running Windows 10 64 bit, updated to the latest version.

Hi Kristy,
If the person being recorded moves around and the microphone is colocated in the camera, you will get lots of sound volume variations. You also get volume variations if it is a separate microphone sitting in one location and the speaker moves around. The best overall sound recordings I've made is when I have used a wireless lavaliere microphone on the person speaking, or I just used a wireless headset. This always gave very good results as it places the mic right in front of the speakers mouth and moves with the speaker.

Download the video and play it with your favorite Windows 10 video player. If these sound fluctuation still occur, this means it is in the video and has nothing to do with Moodle. (Kind of what Al is saying.)

Thanks for replying. You are correct, the issue was not with moodle as I tried playing the video on my smartphone and the sound was perfectly okay. I searched around and found this. It seems that I simply needed to enable loudness equalization on my Windows 10 to fix the audio issue.
