Wrong template in mail

We are using the new certificate plugin. And have inherited a global template for a course and changed the course name in the template field.

Once a user completes the course, the mail still has the global generic template instead of the course customized template. This is not observed when admin downloads the certificate for that user.

Kindly help figure out this problem.
