Bravo!
>>10,000 sites
Long life to Moodle.

Site 10,000 is http://evyuka.ku.sk/ in Slovakia. Congrats!
Note that we actually have 13,097 registered sites but 3000 or so didn't make the grade to be included in the list (they were test sites etc). Thanks go out again to the group of people who have been tirelessly checking the sites for us since I stopped doing it!
I know a lot of people never register their sites for various reasons. I wonder if we should make that button even more annoying.

Several options - make the registration an explicit step of the installation script, explaining to users exactly why you are interested in their registration, listing the information passed to moodle.org, and a skip button ( I still think you'll get a few more registrations this way)
OR
Take the MS route and change the word register to activate
OR
Have a really huge red button that says 'Do not press this button'
Cheers, Andy D
Alright, I only really mean the 1st one

Hiya
Could something go in the cron, inviting admins to hit the a registration button, say on a monthly basis: that might maintain a list of live sites and build up a better picture of stats.
I do think it important to explain what registration does and how it benefits the community.
