Hello everyone. I'm moodle admin who works for a education company in SL. we had moodle 2.9 on our server and we have upgraded to version 3.7 on a different server. i took course backups from 2.9 with all details, and when i restored the courses on new moodle everything is there. but on discussion forum it says "Deleted user". how to fix that. please help me..
Hi
Did you upgrade the site https://docs.moodle.org/37/en/Upgrading or created a new one https://docs.moodle.org/37/en/Installation ? If you have upgraded, the content is already there - you don't have to transfer them again through https://docs.moodle.org/29/en/Course_backup and https://docs.moodle.org/37/en/Course_restore.

Thank you for your valuable reply. Our network admin has done this on two separate servers. 2.9 is the one we used and 3.7 is on a separate server. i have created course backups with users and groupings. (with out the LMS common cartridge function). when i restore on a local configured moodle server, everything comes perfectly. but on the live server doesn't do that..

You're welcome! As I see, there are three Moodle instances involved: one 2.9 one 3.7 and your local Moodle. Course backups from 2.9 restore properly in your local Moodle but not in the 3.7. So you need to find out the difference between your local Moodle and the 3.7. Do you have full access (admin, shell) in the 3.7? If not, is your network admin is familiar with Moodle?
What is the idea of having the two Moodles 2.9 and 3.7? If the 2.9 is the current prod. and 3.7 is supposed to the future prod. then what you have need is an https://docs.moodle.org/37/en/Upgrading probably combined with a https://docs.moodle.org/29/en/Moodle_migration.
I don't know what the LMS common cartridge function is, if it is relevant.
