Forum Activity

I am trying to figure out how to use the Forum in Moodle.  Currently, I use discussions in Canvas.  I post the initial question that all students respond to.  Then they respond to each other as well.

How would I do this in the Forum Activity within Moodle?  Should I use the "Standard Forum Blog Like"?

I also added a rubric as the grading tool.  When I go to grade the post, the rubric is scrunched too narrow.  How can I make that side wider?

I am also curious if I can create a single rubric for my discussion posts and reuse it?  I see that I can use a template, but don't know how to create a template.  Is that what I need?

Moodle forums are quite a bit different than Canvas discussions, much more flexible and powerful, so I suggest you spend some time learning Moodle forums. For example, in Moodle, you can "Rate" forum posts, and you see them in context, and indented. You know who is replying to whom. Yes, Moodle also supports grading the entire forum, somewhat like Canvas. I prefer to use standard forums, to "rate" posts, and I don't use rubrics, so I can't help with those questions.
