The Moodle App is a totally different product from the Moodle LMS, which is what you'd use in a browser. The Moodle App is optimized to work on mobile devices and it has some extra features like offline usage, push notifications, etc.
If you want to give it a try, you can check it out at mobileapp.moodledemo.net. I suggest that you access the school.moodledemo.net site as a student in both products and you can compare it yourself.
