I was shown a demo of Starz the primary school add-on for Digital Brain yesterday and I thought that the look and feel was excellent.
I am now looking for any themes that have specifically been created for small children/primary schools (age 5-11).
If anyone has done any or knows where they might be found, please let me know.
cheers
Mandy
PS I've seen the one over at http://nvc.bwaterps.vic.edu.au/login/index.php
but I'm looking for something with bigger icons, bigger text, pared down pages - that kind of thing.
It may not be quite what you're after, but have a glance at http://chalk.churchastoninfantschool.co.uk/
Their main site is rather lovely too: http://churchastoninfantschool.co.uk/

I love that theme, Miles. Are you planning to share them?

They're not mine! I'd be thrilled to produce something half that good.
Back to Mandy's orginal question, David Scotson's Kubrick theme and it's descendents might be a good place to start if simplified layout is high up the wishlist.
You'll have seen Leon Cych's proposal to develop a flash front-end to Moodle.

Thanks for the link to the Church Aston site, yes that's almost exactly what I mean, now it would just be a case of getting hold of Lemm Lemming - not quite sure why she has removed any way of contacting anyone from the OLE!
I know what you mean about the Kubrick theme - and I would be happy to do (most of) a theme for primary level but, I confess, I just needed a quick way of showing my primary cluster what might be possible and as a counter point to Starz. (I had been looking for the flash discussion, having remembered it vaguely, so thanks for that too!)
I hope giving them the link to Church Aston will make my point.

Mandy,
If you need someone to make/develop a tailormade theme for you, I would love to do this job. I'm also very enthusiastic about it and I could use it also for myself.

Hey Rene,
Thanks for offer, but as you can see from my note above, I really needed something to show these heads. But as I don't know which way they will jump, there is no point in spending time on this task now. Though - strong argument for making some young children friendly themes available to the community.
cheers

The theme was done by Anne Garner's daughter who used to be on Moodle.org as Lemm Lemming. IT is rather lovely.
