STACK question behaviour - multiple attempts with option for new random version

I would like a STACK question behaviour in Moodle where students can attempt the same version of a three-part question (parts 1 and 2 are checkboxes, part 3 is true/false) until they get the right answer, but then ask for a new random question of the same type immediately afterwards. (Nice if they can also check their answer to each part separately before answering all parts, but this is not essential.)

Adaptive mode with no penalties lets them retry the same question infinitely many times, but does not give the option for a new random question of the same type.

Interactive with multiple tries does not allow multiple attempts on the same question (I guess because I did not create any hints?) but does give the option for a new random question.

Is there any way I can get the behaviour I am looking for?

Right. The closest you will get is to add some hints to your question, then use Interactive with multiple tries - but it is not exactly what you want.

Many thanks, Tim. I think I can live with this as it is. Not giving students the ability to reattempt the same question multiple times makes it impossible for them to progressively 'converge'  to the correct answer, discouraging random guessing and (hopefully) encouraging them to read the solutions and try to understand what is actually going on smile
