We are on 3.8 and am trying to create role that will allow all people with that site-wide role to message anyone in the site. The site-wide setting Allow site-wide messaging is not enabled but our support staff need this ability, hence I have been trying to create a role for exactly this.
To create this role I made it assigned at a system level with the following two capabilities;
- Bypass user privacy preferences for messaging any user (moodle/site:messageanyuser) - ALLOW
- Send messages to any user (moodle/site:sendmessage} - ALLOW
When I assign this role to an account and login, when i go to messaging and attempt to search for someone, the search does not return any value for users I know are in the site which means I cannot send a message to any user.
Can anyone shed any light on what I am doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
