Hello everyone!

I've built a Simple 2-Factor Authentication plugin and I'm excited to share it with all of you. Basically, it provides a verification code to the student's email to allow them to sign-in. It simply adds an extra layer of security.

The contribution to the Moodle Plugin Library is still pending for approval. In the meantime, I'd like to get your early feedback.

Tested in 3.3, 3.4, 3.5, 3.6, 3.7 version.

Advantages

Easy settings
  • No need for custom login form
  • No need for extra registration form

Features

  • Send a verification code to the user email address
  • Set the number of attempts a user has to validate the verification code to login
  • Set how many seconds a verification code can be valid
  • After a user reaches all attempts, you can put a penalty time before being able to log in again i.e. seeing the login page

I really hope you find this plugin very useful. Please share your experiences and send me your feedback and ideas for improvements.

I'm attaching the latest version in this post. Or you can download it directly from https://bitbucket.org/lmsdoctor/moodle-auth_simple2fa/downloads
