Cannot save changes to LDAP user profiles after upgrade to 3.6

Cannot save changes to LDAP user profiles after upgrade to 3.6

We use some custom "Other fields" in our user profiles. Since upgrading from 3.4 to 3.6, last week, we can no longer make any changes, including the other fields, in the LDAP accounts. When trying to save, the username field shows "Required," even though it's clearly sitting right there.

I've tried temporarily changing the account to manual, saving it, then making my changes and saving them, then changing back to LDAP. Problem is I can't complete that last step, as it won't allow me.

Thanks Blair for voting.

Just noting that MDL-66071 has been fixed in Moodle 3.6.6 and 3.7.2. smiler

Hi Blair,

Here's a workaround while the bug is being fixed:
  1. Right-click on the username field and choose to 'inspect element' (or the equivalent in non-Chrome browsers)
  2. You will see an attribute [disabled="disabled"](see screenshot).
  3. Delete this (disabled="disabled") in your developer tool.

You will be able to save your change now.

Alternatively update your users by CSV upload.
