SCORM in more than one cousre

SCORM in more than one cousre

Hello folks

I would like to be able to use a SCORM learning object in multiple courses. This is so that i need only update one SCORM object and the 'connected' ones are updated automatically. Until recently i thought that i needed to use a SCORM server. However, I have recently been told that i can use one of Totara's existing repositories to fulfil this function.

Does anyone have any experience with this and can shed some light on how I would implement this? We are using Totara 11.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Kind regards

Stephen

I haven't used the shortcut function, but we do upload our SCORM files to a file repository (https://docs.moodle.org/37/en/File_system_repository) in moodle and then add them to each course where they are supposed to be by browsing through the repository. If you have an identical SCORM file used across many courses, you could use the alias/shortcut function.

See: https://docs.moodle.org/37/en/SCORM_settings#Alias.2FShortcut and https://docs.moodle.org/37/en/Working_with_files#Creating_an_alias.2Fshortcut

Thank you Mathew

I am working with our IT department (wish me luck) to give it a try.

I have used the method mentioned by Mathew, but the Moodle Mobile App does not support remote imsmanifest.xml packages or file system repository unzipped SCORMS.
