Replicate Workbooks in Moodle

Hiya all,

I'm getting more requests to create digital versions of old-fashioned printed workbooks. The tricky thing with these is that they need to allow for both learners and staff to fill them in in an on-going manner. What would be awesome is a book activity type set-up that mixes info and form fill-ins that allows learners to comment on their work alongside a tutors feedback. Of course, this needs to work between an individual learner and their tutor only. Additionally, the ability for learners to upload pictures and video to evidence their work would be amazing.

One option is to 'formify' a PDF so that it can be continuously downloaded, filled in by learners and staff and uploaded again (preferably by a learner). I'm not sure if this is possible. Is there a resource like the 'Folder' that can be accessed by staff and learners?

It may seem strange, but you could probably do this using the Quiz activity. If you add appropriate questions that lets students record what they have done in various ways. And, teachers can see and comment on what students have done.

Thank you for the response. I have played around with the Quiz and also the questionnaire activity. They do go some way to replicate what I want but the format is so different I worry that learners and staff won't take to them. I will certainly continue to explore them.

Database activity, with approval set to on, will allow learners to upload and see their own responses but the teacher sees all.

Thanks for that. I love the Database activity but didn't realise that I could set it so that learners can't see other learners entries smile
