Importing JCross (jcw) files into Moodle 3.4

Hi Gordon,

(Using Moodle 3.5.2)

I really want to import HotPot (6.3) .jcw files into course question banks, to use in quizzes.

I have both the hotpot module, and the q_format hotpot (hopefully in latest versions, and I've checked the Question / format files, and both the format and the 'lang' files are present and correct), but when I import the .jcw xml file into Import Question, it imports not as a crossword, but as separate short-answer questions!?

What am I doing wrong??

.

Hello Ann,

As you have discovered, JCross files are imported into Moodle as short-answer questions.

Unfortunately, there is no "Crossword" question type in standard Moodle, so we have to convert the JCross questions into short-answer questions.

Best regards
Gordon
