Hello,
I would also be interested to know whether a version for 4.4 is planned. My site's administrators are anxious to have an update.
Apparently, they will settle for reassurance that the 4.3 version is compatible with 4.4 .. and, ideally, 4.5. Could this be possible?

HotPots automatically marked as completed under Activity completion

Hello,

I have been using HotPots with Activity completion and the Progress bar for a number of years with no problem.

At the start of this academic year, I discovered all the HotPot activities in my courses were marked as completed.

I had reset the courses and deleted HotPot attempts.

The cohorts are different from last semester and the previous students had been removed from the courses. The activites are marked as complete even for students who are not in my group and before the activities were visible to the students,

The problem only seems to affect HotPots: I have a few H5P activities, quizzes and other files which require completion, but these are not marked as complete. (See attached screenshot.)

We are using Moodle 4.4. My HotPots have not changed since last year.

What could be the problem?

the best version of hot potatoes for use with the moodle plug-in is 6.3

This version is no longer available from the official hotpot site but you can download the program from an archived copy of the page, for example here: https://web.archive.org/web/20191109011319/https://hotpot.uvic.ca/#downloads

I think you might be able to improve the function of your exercise by changing the part in "settings" about exit page - say YES for the exit page and choose some helpful information that you would like to show, for example "Your score for that attempt was ... "

I imported exercises (htm files) created by Hotpot version 7 into my university Moodle. But when I answered the questions and the program showed the score result. The pop-up window (showing the result) closed very quickly and the screen jumped back to the main page of the course in Moodle. So it was impossible for students to look at the result and know their scores. How could I solve the problem? Look forward to hearing from you Thank you.

I am using hotpot in my moodle site, which is version 4.4.3+ the latest version seems to function with it.

Install it using the zip file which you can download. As I recall, the only step that you need to be careful with is to choose the correct type of plugin before going ahead with the install. (It's an activity module.)

Yes. Version 7 of Hot Potatoes had good updates, especially for dealing with audio and video files in the html5 way.

Version 6 is the one which works well in the Moodle plugin.

I keep both versions installed on my desktop and they don't interfere with each other. Remember to keep the source files separate for the two different versions.

thank you very much for your response, if I understood well, ar you implying than the current plug-in works well with version 6 of Hot Potatoes?

Luis, I think you will be better staying with version 6 of Hot Potatoes. I don't think the plugin is updated for version 7.

I am using version 6.305 which is no longer available on the official hot potatoes site, but happily, I believe you can download it from the wayback machine site.
